Possibly but not actually seen on TV earlier today:
"...And this just in from Providence, Rhode Island: Local police entered an apartment after receiving complaints from neighbours about unearthly noises. They found a three-toed sloth slumped on the floor and something white and fluffy flailing knitting needles and hollering, 'I'm in the finals! Woo-hoo! Big time, here I come! The Tina Shawl is here to stay, and DON'T YOU FORGET IT!'
After sedating the shawl and fining it for noise violations, an officer revived the sloth, but the sloth simply mumbled about amazing lace and teamwork before passing out again.
Anyone who has information about this case is asked to call the tips hotline...."
Seriously though, if you want to know what I'm talking about, check out the Amazing Lace site. My post for Challenge #1 is here. If you want to vote for my entry (and many thanks to those who do), click here. If you want to vote for someone else, click there anyway--the entries are faboo.
An emotional sloth and shawl
World o' spinning
My second attempt at plying was marginally better than the first (the singles stayed together this time) but not by much--the yarn varies in every way imaginable, with soft wide bits, rock-hard narrow bits, nebulousness, and smack-in-your-face definition. It is modelled here by my fabulously flabby tabby:
